It’s All Fun and Games

Sorry for the blur. She is faster than a speeding bullet.

Christmas/New Years break leads to chaos with a house of four kids. Everyone goes a little stir crazy and as a parent you find yourself doing things like making up knock, knock jokes and doing word plays just so you can lay on the couch while the children run around laughing. The kids tend to like to create new definitions and synonyms. My favorite came from our 6 year old who we overheard while they were playing before bed, “This isn’t underwear! It’s my natural swimsuit.” I will leave it to you to imagine the fit of giggles that then emanated from their room.

Maggie is doing wonderful. We went in for a helmet check, they scanned her for a new one and sent us out with the great news that Maggie could be helmet free for the next two weeks. I can’t tell who is enjoying this more. Maggie is rolling around everywhere, we are giving her tons of kisses and snuggles on her noggin and we are all feeling a little bit of heaven.

Amidst this Maggie has joined the world of peek a booers. Meaning she is on the side of covering her face and waiting for our reaction. I love that she is doing this; that she is initiating this game, that she is interacting with us but my goodness, is this game tedious. I now know why my kids were never into playing the game. The person with the blanket has all the power and majority of the fun. Therefore, I am learning to grow in humility and patience again. Little did I know in the journey of motherhood that I would grow while playing peek a boo.

We are prepping a letter to go out to friends and family who have been following along with us and Maggie and if you would like to receive some snail mail please Facebook or email me your address.
