It’s a Go.

Maggie did an amazing job and slept through her CT scan this morning. She was unphased when they dilated her eyes. And as for the labs, nothing new, I hate blood draws and so does Maggie.

These tests came back showing no signs of pressure and so we are scheduled for tomorrow. She will be heading in for surgery at 7:30am until 12:45.

Thank you for your prayers for Maggie’s fasting. Maggie doesn’t have to fast as long as we had expected. I get to feed her up to four hours before surgery and she can have pedialyte up to two hours before. So I won’t have to send a crying baby back and she will forever associate grape flavoring with surgery.

I have been going back and forth today, glad for the small victories and heartbroken for what comes tomorrow. I’m going to be handing my baby over to be wounded and put back together. This isn’t right, it isn’t the way that things are supposed to be in life. And in the midst of one of those low moments today I turned to the Gospel reading for the Mass today, and you know what it is?

“Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala.”

No coincidences.

Figuratively, this is where I am at today. And tomorrow I’m gonna be at that tomb and after that I know what happens.

I will see you all in prayer tomorrow!
